Advising on Shared Solar Power: Awareness Drive for Photovoltaics in Apartment Buildings

The County of Lüneburg and the Hanseatic City have teamed up to offer an online consultation offensive on the topic of Photovoltaic (PV) systems in multi-family homes. This initiative builds on successful measures to promote solar energy and aims to provide comprehensive knowledge, reduce barriers, and actively drive the energy transition.

The consultation, which is in cooperation with the Solar Energy Promotion Association Germany e.V. (SFV), consists of four initial consultations, each offering a compact introduction to the topic. Each consultation includes a short lecture and a Q&A session.

The first lecture, on October 9, 2025, focuses on the basics of PV on multi-family homes. The second lecture, on October 28, 2025, discusses operating concepts for PV on multi-family homes. The third lecture, on November 6, 2025, covers community building supply with PV on multi-family homes.

Tuesday, September 29, 2025, 5 pm, marks the start of the initial consultations with Part 1: Basics of PV systems. Part 2 will follow on September 30, 2025. Similarly, Tuesday, October 21, 2025, 1:30 pm, is the date for Part 1, with Part 2 scheduled for October 20, 2025.

Individual kick-off consultations are available for specific questions about PV systems, system design, legal framework conditions, operating concepts, or next planning steps. These consultations are limited to five residential objects, and prior participation in the three specialist lectures is recommended. Applications can be made by email or phone.

People with property ownership, housing associations, housing cooperatives, or members of a condominium owners' association have opportunities to realize a PV system. Further information is available on the website of the district of Lüneburg at

The concept of 'packsdrauf-Solarpartys' has been successfully implemented in Lüneburg (https://padlet.com/solarpartys/lueneburg). The expansion of photovoltaics on multi-family homes is an important contribution to climate protection and an opportunity to involve tenants in the energy transition.

The advisory campaign is part of the County of Lüneburg and the Hanseatic City's efforts to support the installation of solar panels on multi-family houses, with planned events including informational sessions and advisory meetings scheduled throughout late 2025 and early 2026.

Participation in the lectures and initial consultations is free, and registration is required. All offers of the consultation offensive take place online via Zoom. Register for the lectures and initial consultations at https://www.sfv.de/actualities/events/pv-on-multi-family-homes-part-1-to-3.
