According to the Flightright Index 2025, several European airlines are facing difficulties in terms of reliability and customer satisfaction. The ranking, which evaluates the 20 largest European airlines based on reliability, customer satisfaction, and payment behavior, has identified Finnair, Vueling, Ryanair, and KLM as the most challenging airlines in the region.
Finnair, ranked worst overall, scored a disappointing 2.48 out of 5 stars. Vueling followed closely behind with 2.52 stars, while Ryanair received a rating of 2.58. KLM, despite scoring 2.72 out of 5 overall, received particularly low scores in reliability due to delays, cancellations, staffing shortages, and strike threats. Customer satisfaction was also low, scoring just 2.15. However, KLM performed well in compensating passengers quickly, scoring 4 out of 5 in payment behavior.

Eurowings and Discover Airlines scored better overall but still struggled with reliability, achieving around 2.5 out of 5.
EasyJet received the lowest customer satisfaction rating of 2.03 stars. In contrast, British Airways received the highest customer satisfaction rating of 3.15 stars. Interestingly, Finnair, despite being a premium airline, ranks alongside low-cost carriers like Ryanair in terms of service quality.
