Aganova & ACCIONA Save Manzanares 3,000 m3 Water Daily with Nautilus Leak Detection
Aganova, in collaboration with ACCIONA, has successfully completed a significant project in Manzanares, Ciudad Real. Using their innovative Nautilus technology, they inspected a 4.1-kilometer stretch of asbestos cement pipeline, detecting and repairing leaks without service interruption.
The inspected pipeline, carrying a flow of 400 m3/h, was experiencing substantial losses that affected supply capacity. The Nautilus technology, developed by Aganova, enabled non-invasive, high-precision acoustic signal detection of internal leaks and anomalies. This led to the discovery of 16 leaks, some classified as critical.
The project, led by the Head of Service for Manzanares at ACCIONA, has resulted in significant improvements. Repairs have recovered up to 3,000 m3 of water per day, enhancing system efficiency and ensuring a reliable water supply for the municipality. Operational costs have been reduced, asset planning improved, and supply system resilience enhanced.
The successful application of Nautilus technology in Manzanares demonstrates its positive impact on water management. Both Aganova and ACCIONA, committed to sustainability and efficiency, have shown how such high-precision, non-invasive technologies can contribute to water sustainability and service quality.
