AI Revolution in Entertainment: Hollywood Veteran Embraces Artificial Intelligence to Innovate Traditional Methods
HOLLYWOOD'S FUTURE UNVEILED: Meet David S. Goyer, renowned for his work on "Blade," "The Dark Knight" trilogy, and "Foundation" on Apple TV+. Now, he's venturing into the realm of artificial intelligence and blockchain to revolutionize Hollywood.
Goyer is teaming up with AI platform Incention to produce a sci-fi movie titled "Emergence." Incention aims to leverage artificial intelligence and blockchain to assist filmmakers in creating narratives and full videos[1].
Speaking at the "AI, Hollywood and the New World of Storytelling" session at NAB Show in Las Vegas, Goyer expressed his eagerness to disrupt Hollywood and explore new platforms. "I'm sort of AI-agnostic," he said, adding that he's curious to see how he can contribute to AI's applications[2]
Despite the hype surrounding AI's impact on the entertainment industry, Goyer believes it's far from being able to produce a movie that packs theaters. He has experimented with AI-generated scripts, but the results were lackluster. However, he noted that AI can be beneficial in summarizing longer scenes or providing multiple perspectives[3].
Goyer has voiced concerns about the dangers of AI running wild in Hollywood and the potential consequences. He cited the possibility of studios using AI models to create content without paying royalties[4]. But while acknowledging these risks, Goyer decided to collaborate with Incention to explore ways AI can aid creators instead of replacing them.
"In a small way, I can take part in it and see if I can build some guardrails and some use cases that aid the creator," he said[3].
