Alpina B5 BiTurbo Touring: The M5 Wagon BMW Never Made

Alpina has unveiled the Alpina B5 BiTurbo Touring, a car that comes close to being a 2012 BMW M5 Touring, as BMW has no plans to produce an M5 Touring. The vehicle was presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2011 by Alpina itself.

The Alpina B5 BiTurbo Touring is not a direct replacement for the BMW M5 Touring, but it certainly offers similar thrills. Under the bonnet, it packs a steroid-injected V8 4.4-litre, twin-turbo engine, mated to an 8-speed ZF transmission. This powerhouse delivers a staggering 500bhp and 516lb/ft, launching the car from 0-62mph in just 4.8 seconds and propelling it to a top speed of 187mph.

The exterior is equally impressive, featuring Alpina protrusions on the front, back, and sides, giving it a muscular and aggressive stance. The base price of £76,000 might seem steep, but it's a small price to pay for such a unique and powerful machine. For those with deeper pockets, additional expensive Alpina options are available.

The Alpina B5 BiTurbo Touring is a remarkable car that fills the void left by BMW's lack of an M5 Touring. With its powerful engine, impressive performance, and distinctive styling, it's a true driver's car that's sure to turn heads. Despite its high price tag, it offers excellent value for money, considering its exclusivity and capabilities.
