In the world of gaming, anticipation is building as Ripple Effect (formerly DICE L.A.) works on a new, mysterious mode for Battlefield 6. This development could significantly alter the gameplay formula of the series, but details about this mode remain under wraps.

The recent announcements and trailers have not shed any light on the nature of this mode or how it compares to popular battle royale games like Call of Duty: Warzone. Earlier leaks hinted at a possible battle royale mode for Battlefield 6, yet it's unconfirmed whether this is the mode Ripple Effect is crafting.

Official multiplayer details and gameplay reveal are scheduled for July 31, 2025. This event promises to provide clarity on the new mode and whether it resembles or competes directly with Warzone's battle royale experience.

Meanwhile, Battlefield 6 is not the only project causing a stir in the gaming community. Electronic Arts (EA) has faced challenges, with the cancellation of a Star Wars shooter in development at Respawn Entertainment, resulting in the layoff of 670 employees across the company.

The multiplayer portion of Battlefield 6 is being led by DICE, while the campaign is being spearheaded by Motive Studios. Criterion is providing support work for both the multiplayer and campaign.

Battlefield 6 is expected to launch on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5. The game features two confirmed factions: Pax Armata and NATO forces.

As for Respawn Entertainment, they are not only involved in Battlefield 6 but are also working on a third game in their Star Wars Jedi series and providing support on Star Wars: Zero Company, a turn-based strategy game set during the Clone Wars. Star Wars: Zero Company, set to launch in 2025, is being led by an external team at Bit Reactor.

The previous Battlefield game, Battlefield 2042, launched in 2021 to mixed reactions, with players complaining about bugs and map design. The high expectations for Battlefield 6, given the multiple studios tied up in its development, are understandable, especially in light of EA's recent cancellations and layoffs.

The multiplayer reveal for Battlefield 6 is set for July 31, 2025. Until then, the exact nature of the new mode and whether it compares to Call of Duty: Warzone remains unconfirmed. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the reveal date.
