American tradition-inspired hues debut for PRS and John Mayer's popular SE Silver Sky, with additional Maple models revealed for the renowned guitar lineup.

The PRS SE Silver Sky has undergone a vibrant makeover, with four new colorways that pay homage to traditional American fashion. John Mayer, the signature artist behind the Silver Sky, is excited to share these fresh hues with the world.

The SE Silver Sky Rosewood model now boasts the bold and bright Derby Red, Trad Blue, Laurel Green, and Dandy Lion (a vivid yellow), marking the first time these colors have been featured on any PRS instrument. On the other hand, the SE Silver Sky Maple version now offers the previously rosewood-exclusive colorways of Moon White, Stone Blue, Summit Purple, and Nylon Blue finishes.

The inspiration behind these new color choices is rooted in traditional American fashion, as opposed to the automotive finishes commonly associated with vintage Fender guitars. John Mayer described these hues as "time-tested" and popular through decades, reflecting classic American style.

The new colorways maintain the tonal and playability features that define the John Mayer signature series from PRS. These include a poplar body, bolt-on maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with bird inlays, three 635JM single-coil pickups, a 25.5" scale length, 8.5" fretboard radius, two-point steel tremolo, and vintage-style tuners.

Since its launch in 2022, the PRS SE Silver Sky, an affordable version of a John Mayer guitar, has sold in large numbers. The new colorways are now available, priced at $849 apiece.

In addition to these new colorways, it's worth mentioning that a left-handed model of the PRS SE Silver Sky was released last year. PRS's strategy is not to dethrone Fender or Gibson from the top of the electric guitar hierarchy, but to offer a high-quality, affordable option for musicians.

| Model Variant | New Colorways | Inspiration | |---------------|-----------------------------------------------|---------------------------------| | SE Silver Sky Rosewood | Derby Red, Trad Blue, Laurel Green, Dandy Lion (yellow) | Traditional American fashion | | SE Silver Sky Maple | Moon White, Stone Blue, Summit Purple, Nylon Blue | Carried over from rosewood version|

The Dandy Lion colorway for the PRS SE Silver Sky resembles Graffiti Yellow, a color first introduced to Fender by Jeff Beck. The aesthetic of the new PRS SE Silver Sky colorways makes them look more like classic Stratocasters than ever before.
