Animation industry veteran Maggie Kang is set to join the lineup of the Origin Summit's third wave, as the event announces her involvement in its programming.
Maggie Kang, a renowned animation director, writer, producer, and story artist based in Los Angeles, will be joining an impressive lineup of global heavy-hitters at the Origin Summit. The event, produced by Story Protocol in collaboration with Blockworks and Hankyung Media Group, is a premier institutional event at the intersection of AI, blockchain, finance, and intellectual property.
Kang is best known for her work on Netflix's record-breaking K-POP DEMON HUNTERS, which has become the platform's most-popular film of all time with 236 million views in the first nine weeks. Her heroines in K-POP DEMON HUNTERS were praised for their humour, flaws, and relatability, leading to an immediate and enormous globally dedicated fandom.
At Origin Summit, Kang will participate in a fireside chat on global storytelling, fandom, and the rise of culturally-driven IP. Other celebrities invited to this discussion include Sooman Lee (founder of SM Entertainment and CEO of A2O Entertainment), Arthur Hayes (co-founder and former CEO of BitMEX), and Justin Sun (founder of TRON), among other leading figures in entertainment, blockchain, and finance.
The Origin Summit will take place on September 23, 2025, during Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul, South Korea. The event will also feature Sandeep Nailwal, Founder & CEO of Polygon Foundation and Co-Founder of Sentient, Yat Siu, Co-founder & Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands, and Luca Netz, CEO of Pudgy Penguins & Igloo, Inc., among others.
Rayhaneh Sharif-Askary, the MD of Grayscale, and Amy Oldenburg, the Head of Emerging Markets Equity at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, are also set to attend the summit. Additionally, Lee Sung-soo, the CAO of SM Entertainment, Ryan Seungkyu Lee, Co-founder of The Pinkfong Company, and Jangwon Lee, CEO of Contents Technologies, will be in attendance.
The Origin Summit is hosted by Story, in collaboration with Blockworks and Hankyung Media Group. Story Protocol, launched in February 2025, is a blockchain infrastructure for tokenized intellectual property. K-POP DEMON HUNTERS' soundtrack, produced by Story Protocol, has yielded eight Billboard Hot 100 hits, including the #1 single "Golden".
Brandon Yu, the President of HYBE APAC, and Jake Jaekyung Song, a Co-founder of Nexon, are also expected to attend the summit.
