Anticipated Mid-2025 Release Announced for 'Escape From Tarkov' Version 1.0 Launch
Escape From Tarkov developer Battlestate Games has dropped several hints that imply the game's full launch could occur in the first half of 2025.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating the complete 1.0 version of Escape From Tarkov for quite some time now. However, with this year's wipe failing to deliver the 1.0 launch, that possibility is off the table. Yet, following the wipe, a few tantalizing hints have emerged suggesting the 1.0 launch might occur in the first half of 2025.
The most apparent hint comes from game director Nikita Buyanov, who shared a video on social media showcasing Tarkov's behind-the-scenes development. Nikita has been releasing such videos fairly consistently over the past few weeks, with most providing a brief glimpse of the ongoing work. However, the latest one, uploaded just today, concluded with two brief messages appearing on screen: “Q2” and “2025”.
This seems to imply that the 1.0 launch of Escape From Tarkov will take place in Q2 2025, as it's the next significant event expected for the game. The timing aligns with the typical wipe schedule, with the next one expected towards the end of Q2, although recent wipes have deviated from this pattern.
Another hint, which appears to be unintentional, was dropped during a TarkovTV live stream. One of the developers, speaking in Russian, suggested the next wipe might mark the full release of Tarkov. Although I don't understand Russian, various community translations suggest that's what was mentioned.
Both these hints seem to point towards a mid-2025 release for Tarkov's 1.0 version. The 1.0 update is expected to incorporate all story quest lines, the new map "Terminal", and an expanded prestige system, among other improvements. As the recent wipes have been smaller due to the team's focus on 1.0 content, this should mark a return to the substantial patches we used to see.
The only potential obstacle to a mid-2025 1.0 release for Escape From Tarkov is Nikita's mention of a major event planned for February. This was briefly mentioned during the TarkovTV stream, and further details were not provided, so it could just be a cool in-game event like recent zombie outbreaks. However, it could also be a hint at the launch, making it a possibility, albeit an unlikely one given how soon it would be after this wipe.
The video shared by game director Nikita Buyanov includes the messages "Q2" and "2025," suggesting a potential Q2 2025 release for the full 1.0 version of 'Escape From Tarkov'. During a TarkovTV live stream, a developer, speaking in Russian, hinted at the next wipe marking the full release of 'Tarkov'. While the exact translation is not clear, the community's interpretation suggests this is what was implied.
