Geekz Ventures, a nonprofit organisation based in the United States, has announced the opening of applications for the second edition of its GROWTH pre-accelerator program. The program, launched in 2023, aims to support up to 10 innovative startups, with a focus on underestimated founders building high-potential tech-enabled businesses.

The 10-week program, scheduled to begin in an unspecified future date, will provide mentoring, business education, and community support to the selected startups. The curriculum will cover customer discovery, product validation, go-to-market strategy, and fundraising preparation. The program has a sector focus on MediaTech, Connectivity, Entertainment, and Mobile Technology, but is industry agnostic.

Participants will benefit from equity-free micro-grants, expert mentorship, peer-to-peer collaboration, and office hours with experienced operators. They will also have ongoing coaching and community access to refine ideas, acquire first paying customers, and secure follow-on funding.

Applications are now open and can be submitted via the Geekz Ventures website. The program is backed by the Techstars Foundation and has already proven successful, with the inaugural cohort including startups like Hayti and visuEats, both of which reported significant growth and funding success following the program.

Geekz Ventures offers sustained support during critical growth stages, offering continued mentoring and coaching to the most promising startups from the original class. Brandon Wilkins, a seasoned strategist and startup ecosystem builder, will continue as Program Manager for the upcoming cohort.

Cary Wheelous, CEO of Hayti, credited the program with providing critical insights into business operations, sales, and product-market fit. Sophronia McKenzie, CEO of visuEats, praised the program for sharpening their go-to-market strategy and connecting them with a supportive community.

Kunbi Tinuoye, the founder and Executive Director of Geekz Ventures, expressed excitement for the next cohort. She was recently recognised as one of the winners in the Boundary Breakers Contest.

Spots for the next cohort are limited, and demand is expected to be high. Early-stage founders with tech-enabled business ideas are encouraged to apply. For more information and to apply, visit the Geekz Ventures website.
