In a significant move for the European DefenceTech sector, Munich-based Arx Robotics has raised 31 million euros in a Series A funding round. The company specializes in building and retrofitting autonomous ground vehicles (UGVs), with a focus on modular designs, positioning it as a growing player in the industry.

Founded in 2021 by former German military officers Marc Wietfeld (CEO), Maximilian Wied (CFO), and Stefan Roebel (COO), Arx Robotics has already made strides in the field of unmanned ground systems (UGVs). The company develops AI-assisted UGVs and the world's first independent AI operating system for legacy vehicles - Arx Mithra OS.

Arx Robotics' strategic collaboration with RENK Group AG, a leading provider of propulsion solutions for military and civilian applications, aims to enhance the company's digital capabilities and leverage RENK's industrial strength for global expansion. The partnership will focus on advancing autonomous defense mobility, including UGVs, and potentially deepening the partnership through joint ventures and investments.

With the new funding, Arx Robotics plans to scale up production and expand its international reach, targeting markets such as the USA, UK, France, Italy, India, and the Middle East. These regions are experiencing increased demand for autonomous capabilities. The company also aims to attract leading AI talent to further develop Mithra OS as the technological backbone for autonomous defense systems.

Arx Robotics is committed to establishing a fully European supply chain and contributes to Europe's defense sovereignty with its technology. The company has been commissioned by the European Defence Agency (EDA) for a project under the first EU-wide defense innovation initiative and currently supplies six European armed forces.

The demand for advanced military technology in Europe is growing due to geopolitical tensions, and many states in Europe are focusing on modernizing their defenses. Arx Robotics' goal is to support armed forces with digital solutions for situational awareness and fleet modernization.

The funding round was led by HV Capital, with participation from Omnes Capital and existing investors NATO Innovation Fund and Project A. This investment will enable Arx Robotics to further expand its role as a leading provider of modular, AI-driven robotics solutions, paving the way for its next stage of growth.

In summary, Arx Robotics is poised for significant growth through its strategic partnerships and technological advancements, positioning itself as a key player in the future of autonomous defense mobility. The company's commitment to European supply chains and defense sovereignty makes it a valuable asset in the modernization of European defense systems.

The finance raised will be used to attract leading AI talent and scale up production for international expansion, specifically targeting markets like the USA, UK, France, Italy, India, and the Middle East. As technology continues to advance, Arx Robotics' AI-assisted UGVs and AI operating system, Arx Mithra OS, will be the technological backbone for autonomous defense systems in sports, such as military drills and emergency response scenarios.
