In a groundbreaking development, Pegasystems Inc. has signed a five-year collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS), aiming to empower clients to embrace the future of technology with ease.

The strategic partnership combines AWS's AI-powered modernization capabilities with Pega's expertise in enterprise workflow transformation. This collaboration provides customers with powerful tools to escape technical debt without disrupting critical business operations.

The integration between Pega Blueprint and AWS Transform is a key aspect of this collaboration. It targets accelerating legacy modernization projects by automating and simplifying the entire modernization lifecycle using agentic AI workflows. Pega Blueprint, a cloud-based application, uses AI agents to help design and develop new, AI-powered workflow applications, while AWS Transform facilitates the migration and modernization of legacy VMware and .NET Framework applications using AI-driven automation.

This integration accelerates the use of AI and automation in enterprise workflows. It automates the full modernization lifecycle of legacy systems with agentic AI workflows offered by AWS Transform, reducing technical debt and manual effort. It also leverages Pega Blueprint’s AI-driven design tools to translate business goals into new automated processes, enabling rapid development and deployment of intelligent workflows on the cloud.

Moreover, Amazon Bedrock, part of the AWS services integrated with Pega, will be used to incorporate large language models (LLMs) from providers like Anthropic, Amazon, Cohere, and Meta, allowing companies to customize and scale generative AI capabilities seamlessly within Pega workflows.

The collaboration is expected to provide customers with powerful tools for legacy application transformation and modernization. It enables organizations to move beyond incremental legacy updates towards fully AI-driven dynamic and intelligent workflows, increasing business agility and improving customer engagement, service delivery, and operational efficiency.

The agreement also affirms Pega's commitment to selling in AWS Marketplace as the preferred transaction mechanism for Pega-as-a-Service. This collaboration is seen as a significant step in empowering organizations to use generative AI to drive strategic business process changes and capture AI-driven productivity improvements.

Infosys, a leading global provider of next-generation digital services and consulting, is also excited about this development. Manas Kumar Sarkar, the vice president of the enterprise application integration service at Infosys, expressed his excitement, stating that the agreement streamlines the path to integrate Pega Platform and Pega Blueprint into Infosys Cobalt, their cloud offering built on AWS.

In essence, the collaboration accelerates enterprise transformation by freeing organizations from the constraints of outdated legacy systems, enabling them to harness generative AI and automation tools natively as part of their modernized workflows, establishing a foundation for the autonomous enterprise vision embraced by Pega and AWS.

The collaboration also enables partners to differentiate their services by infusing their IP and best practices into Pega Blueprint to transform legacy applications. Pega will integrate Amazon Bedrock as the primary generative AI foundation powering Pega Blueprint and Pega Platform. Clients can securely use generative AI large language models from companies including Anthropic, Amazon, Cohere, Meta, and more with Amazon Bedrock.

According to Chris Grusz, the managing director of technology partners at AWS, generative AI is not only revolutionizing what customers can build in the cloud but also fundamentally changing how quickly and seamlessly they can get to the cloud in the first place, thanks to services like AWS Transform. The collaboration aims to empower clients to use Pega products with AWS advanced generative AI services.

A recent Pega survey found that more than two-thirds of IT decision-makers in global enterprises say outdated legacy systems and applications are preventing them from embracing technologies like artificial intelligence and automation. This collaboration is a step towards addressing this issue, enabling organizations to modernize their systems and unlock the full potential of AI and automation.
