Battlefield 6 Officially Announced for October 2025
Electronic Arts (EA) has officially confirmed the release of Battlefield 6, a next-generation shooting game set to make a comeback after a four-year gap. The game is scheduled to launch on October 10, 2025, and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The game is set against the backdrop of a near-future global conflict, with a narrative that includes dramatic sequences such as an attack on the USA with the Brooklyn Bridge in ruins. Battlefield 6 will bring back classic features such as traditional class systems and 64-player multiplayer battles.
Players can expect intense firefights across land and air with tanks, jets, and destroyed buildings in the gameplay. The title continues the series’ focus on large-scale multiplayer first-person shooter gameplay, with updated weapon and class systems confirmed by developers ahead of beta.
There will be at least two editions at launch: the Standard Edition, priced around $79.99 for consoles and about $69.99 for PC, and the Phantom Edition, a premium version similar to Battlefield 2042’s Ultimate Edition, priced around $109.99.
An open beta has been confirmed by EA, expected to begin potentially as early as August 4, 2025, allowing widespread testing before release. A full multiplayer reveal event is scheduled for July 31, 2025.
