"Here's an astonishing revelation: Toyota engineers have crafted a mobility device that feels like it's been plucked from the pages of a science fiction novel!"

"Behold this marvel! A wheeled contraption, reminiscent of science fiction, dreamt up by the ingenious minds at Toyota!"

In a bold move towards the future of urban mobility, Toyota has unveiled its latest concept, the spherical mobility device codenamed "Amazing!". This compact, ball-shaped vehicle offers exceptional maneuverability, designed to revolutionise personal transport in tight urban environments.

The Toyota Engineering Society, established in 1947 with 20,000 members, spearheaded the development of this innovative device. The society, which has been exploring various forms of next-generation mobility, sought help from Shinshi, a specialized plastic board manufacturer and acrylic processor, for the full-size body of the spherical mobility device.

The development process was challenging due to the unique design and short timeline, but the engineers managed to complete the project in just four months. The first prototype, however, was small enough to hold in both hands and would derail after a few rotations. Undeterred, the team persevered, refining the design until they achieved a two-meter diameter device capable of carrying human passengers.

The spherical mobility device operates on the principle of a hamster wheel, with rails on the inside of the sphere. This innovative design brings a smile to the faces of those riding it for the first time, as they experience the smooth, effortless motion. As the surface of the panels were polished, the initial cloudiness vanished, revealing a sleek, futuristic appearance.

The device was unveiled at an event in October 2024 to huge success. Lines of more than 200 people were observed for the spherical mobility device, a testament to the public's interest in this groundbreaking concept. The creators were pleased by the reactions of the riders, with Yuta Tomikawa, a person involved in the project, expressing admiration for the final results, saying "What's this? It's amazing!"

The Toyota Engineering Society's theme for 2024 was "What's this? It's Amazing!", reflecting their commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of mobility. The society's 2023 project, the Toyota Miraidon, focused on Future Mobility, showcasing Toyota's ongoing dedication to innovation in the automotive industry.

While the specifics on the development progress and current status of "Amazing!" remain limited in public sources, Toyota continues to develop and test various mobility devices. Interested parties are encouraged to monitor official Toyota press releases and automotive technology expos for the latest announcements regarding "Amazing!" and related projects.
