Binance to Distribute BARD Tokens to HODLers!
The cryptocurrency world is abuzz with the upcoming introduction of a new DeFi protocol and cryptocurrency initiative: Lombard (BARD). This innovative project aims to enhance Bitcoin's role in decentralised finance, offering a range of benefits for users and fostering a more dynamic and yield-producing Bitcoin ecosystem.
At its core, the BARD token serves as the backbone of the Lombard Finance initiative, which was first unveiled in the context of Bitcoin Liquid Staking. The token is central to governance, securing the LBTC bridge through staking, and providing rewards, lower fees, and voting power on protocol decisions for its holders.
One of the key features of the Lombard project is the ability for users to stake Bitcoin (BTC) to obtain LBTC, a liquid staking token. This token supports yield generation and participation in DeFi, while keeping assets liquid. This innovative approach allows users to benefit from the growing DeFi market without having to sell their Bitcoin.
Lombard Finance, the developer of the BARD token, has announced that the token will be available on the Binance Spot Market on September 18, 2025, at 11:00.
In addition to the BARD token, Lombard Finance offers a suite of tools designed to enable on-chain Bitcoin markets. This includes a Staking SDK and cross-chain solutions, which aim to facilitate a seamless and efficient user experience.
The total, circulating, and max supply of the BARD token are all set at 1,000,000,000. As of now, 225,000,000 BARD tokens are in circulation, representing 22.50% of the max supply. The token is known as the Lombard Token (BARD).
Lombard Finance's ultimate goal is to shift Bitcoin from a static store of value to a dynamic, yield-producing asset. This ambitious vision could revolutionise the way Bitcoin is used in the DeFi space, making it a more versatile and valuable asset for users worldwide.
