BlackRock, Clearstream Partner to Expand Alternative Investment Access
BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, has partnered with Clearstream, a post-trade services provider of Deutsche Börse Group, to expand the distribution of its alternative investment solutions. The collaboration aims to simplify access to BlackRock's private market offerings for sophisticated investors.
Moritz Dechow, CEO of Clearstream Fund Centre AG and Head of Fund Distribution for Clearstream Fund Services, expressed excitement about the partnership. He noted that Clearstream's extensive distribution network, advanced digital platform, and expertise in alternative investments will facilitate access to BlackRock's private market offerings. These could include alternative assets like private equity, hedge funds, and real estate, as well as structured products and specialized investment strategies.
Clearstream's network comprises over 300 distribution partners, including large global wealth managers with a strong presence in Europe, the UK, and Asia Pacific. While specific institutions benefiting from this collaboration are not publicly named, they typically include major global wealth managers and institutional investors from Clearstream's network.
Through this agreement, BlackRock gains access to Clearstream's sophisticated investor network, while Clearstream's infrastructure ensures secure and efficient processing of BlackRock's funds at scale. The partnership is expected to broaden the distribution of BlackRock's alternative investment solutions, benefiting both companies and their clients.
