Nio Sues Several Bloggers Over Alleged Defamation

In a move to protect its brand and reputation, Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) has filed a lawsuit against several bloggers for spreading false information about the company and its sub-brand Onvo. The lawsuit, announced today by Nio's legal department, alleges defamation against accounts such as 海闲思录, 大D有态度, 阿文鉴机, 山丘下的星星, 你真是个傻孩子, 至尊宝哥哥, and ιοиδ schÁ.

The false information, widely disseminated online, attacked both Nio and Onvo brands, causing significant damage to the company's image and the reputation of its employees. The lawsuit claims that the false information was about Nio and its sub-brand Onvo, and was spread by a large number of accounts.

One of the bloggers sued, @大D有态度, is a well-known supporter of Li Auto and a Weibo automotive blogger with 444,000 followers. Despite his support for Li Auto, @大D有态度 has stated on Weibo that he will actively defend himself in court.

Nio's sub-brand Onvo is set to officially launch its L90 SUV on July 31. The L90 SUV, a product of Onvo, has been the subject of positive feedback from many automotive enthusiasts. However, the lawsuit alleges that the false information spread online has tarnished the image of the L90 SUV and Onvo as a whole.

It is worth noting that there is no publicly available or recent information about a defamation lawsuit involving Nio, Li Auto, and bloggers. While Nio and Li Auto are Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers that have occasionally been involved in industry disputes and competitive allegations, no specific defamation lawsuit involving them and bloggers has been documented.

The sued accounts are active on social media platforms including Telegram, WeChat, Weibo, and Douyin. The lawsuit seeks to hold these accounts responsible for the damage caused to Nio and Onvo's brands and reputations.

As the legal proceedings continue, Nio remains committed to upholding its values and protecting its brand and reputation from false and damaging information.
