BMW Marks Mexico Plant's 30th Anniversary With Limited Edition M2 Coupé
BMW has unveiled a special edition M2 Coupé to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its production plant in Lerma, Mexico. The BMW M2 Coupé 30 Years Edition, priced at $2,149,900 MXN (~ $108,500), is a commemorative model built exclusively for the Mexican market.
The M2 Coupé 30 Years Edition is limited to just 30 units, all reserved for Mexico. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, generating 480 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and features BMW's M traction control and active M differential.
The interior boasts carbon fiber-reinforced bucket seats trimmed in Merino leather and an Alcantara-wrapped M Sports steering wheel with red M Drive buttons. Externally, the model showcases two unique livery options: Individual Frozen Portimao Blau metallic and BMW Individual Frozen Pure Grey metallic. It also sports 30 Years Edition badges and ten-arm split-spoke wheels.
BMW opened its first production plant in Lerma in 1994. This special edition M2 Coupé marks the plant's 30th anniversary. Notably, there is no public information indicating a specific main sponsor or supporter financing the production of this model.
