BMW Marks Turnaround With Strong Sales Growth Across Regions
BMW has reported a significant turnaround in sales, marking the first increase after five consecutive declines and the first in a year and a half. This positive trend was evident across various regions, including the USA and Europe.
In the USA, BMW and Mini sales surged by 24% to 104,200 cars, demonstrating resilience despite the impact of tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. This growth can partly be attributed to a 13% drop in sales in the third quarter of 2024, which was caused by brake issues supplied by Continental. Looking at the broader picture, BMW delivered 588,300 cars in the third quarter of 2025, marking an 8.8% increase from the previous year.
In China, while BMW sales decreased by 0.4% to 147,100 cars, this was a notable improvement from the previous year's quarter, which saw a significant drop of almost 30%. The core brand BMW saw a 5.7% increase to 514,600 cars, Mini saw a 33% increase to 72,400 cars, and even Rolls-Royce saw a 13% increase to 1,304 cars.
BMW's full-year sales are now in the black, with strong growth in Europe, America, and with the Mini brand. In Germany and Europe, BMW sales increased by 12% and 9% respectively, to nearly 73,000 and 239,600 cars. Despite a slight decrease in electric car sales by 0.6% to 102,900 cars in the third quarter of 2025, BMW's overall sales growth is a positive sign for the company's future prospects.
