BMW Recalls 200,000 Vehicles Over Fire Risk
Ford has announced a massive worldwide recall due to a potential fire risk. Nearly all models produced between 2015 and 2021 are affected, with over 200,000 vehicles needing repair.
The recall is due to a faulty starter that could corrode and cause short circuits, leading to engine failure and, in some cases, a vehicle fire. Owners should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) to see if their car is affected.
Affected owners will be contacted by the Federal Motor Transport Authority for a free workshop visit to replace the pinion starter and possibly the battery. Ford advises owners not to park their vehicles in garages or near buildings until the repair is made.
The recall affects vehicles from almost all series, including the Focus, Fusion, and more. In Germany alone, 136,500 vehicles are affected. Ford urges owners to take immediate action once contacted.
