BMW Recalls 2026 Models Over Potential Electrical Fire Risk
BMW is initiating a voluntary safety recall for certain 2026 models due to a potential electrical issue. The recall, set to begin on September 18, 2025, affects four vehicles, including three M4 models and one 430i. Owners will be notified by email starting November 17, 2025, and the repair will be free of charge.
The issue, first identified during a test drive on August 7, 2025, involves a loose positive battery cable connection at the power selector switch box. This can lead to engine stalling or, in severe cases, a fire risk. The affected production weeks are 09 to 13 in 2023. Despite the potential danger, no incidents, injuries, or fires have been reported. BMW is taking a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of its customers.
BMW will inspect and replace the faulty parts free of charge. Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by email starting November 17, 2025. The recall is a proactive measure to prevent any potential hazards, as no issues have been reported so far.
