Brazil's Online Gambling Market Set to Launch in 2025 With 114 Operators

Brazil's online gambling market is set to launch on 1 January 2025, with 114 operators already filing applications by the initial deadline. The process has sparked significant interest, with over 270 companies vying for the 71 available licences.

Among the applicants are prominent international operators such as Sportingbet, Caesars Sportsbook's Big Brazil, Superbet, Rei do Pitaco, and Kaizen Gaming-owned Betano. Flutter Entertainment, with its extensive portfolio, is expected to take an early lead in the stock market today.

The licensing process has seen some high-profile withdrawals, with Super Group's Betway, Arena Esportiva, AmuletoBet, and Vera&John opting out. The reasons behind their decisions remain unclear.

The bill to legalise online gambling, 2,234/2022, has faced delays in the Brazilian Senate. Despite these setbacks, the stock market today's launch remains on track for 2025. Successful applicants will have 30 days to meet final requirements after notification.

With the initial application window closed, Brazil's online gambling market is poised for growth. The approved operators, including several major international players, will soon be able to compete in this promising stock market today.
