Car manufacturer Lucid unveils its new SUV model, the Gravity, along with other vehicle deliveries.

Silicon Valley-based technology company, Lucid Group, has announced that its upcoming midsize electric vehicle, the Lucid Gravity SUV, is scheduled to start production towards the end of 2026. The news was revealed during the company's Technology & Manufacturing Day.

The Lucid Gravity SUV is set to be a game-changer in the electric vehicle (EV) market. Powered by the company's ultra-compact powertrain technology, it promises exhilarating performance while maintaining or surpassing current Lucid efficiency and performance metrics.

Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO at Lucid, has stated that the Lucid Gravity SUV is expected to be the best SUV ever.

Affordability and Multiple Body Styles

The Lucid Gravity SUV is designed to cater to a more affordable price point compared to Lucid’s current luxury models, with starting prices around $50,000. The midsize EV platform will offer at least three variants ("top hats"), including a midsize SUV and a sedan.

Lucid's Strategy and Technological Advancements

The platform is part of Lucid’s strategy to expand its market reach with vehicles that balance premium attributes with cost competitiveness. The company's goal is to accelerate humanity's transition to sustainable transportation and energy.

The Atlas Drive Unit, destined for the company's upcoming midsize platform vehicles, is miniaturized, allowing greater interior cabin space. This drive unit offers enhanced value for Lucid and its customers, delivering superior power density, higher peak power, and lower cost per horsepower compared to industry rivals.

The technologies, innovations, and learnings of Lucid Air have been incorporated into the upcoming Lucid Gravity, designed to be the world's most advanced electric SUV. Lucid vehicles continue to add capabilities and value to customers throughout their product lifecycle via over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Charging Capabilities and Market Reach

The midsize EV will continue Lucid's technological leadership in EV performance, efficiency, and charging capabilities. In 2025, the Lucid Gravity SUV will be equipped with a NACS charging connector, allowing access to 15,000+ Superchargers.

One of the company's upcoming midsize vehicles will use the efficiency and cost advantages enabled by Lucid technology to deliver the same range as competitors while using a smaller battery.

Lucid's Liquidity Position

Lucid's liquidity position, with nearly $4.86 billion at the end of Q2 2025, supports the development and production ramp-up through the latter half of 2026. Although Lucid slightly lowered its 2025 production target due to changing market conditions, the midsize vehicle launch remains a critical growth pillar in the company’s roadmap.
