Cato Networks Prepares to Acquire Aim Security in a Shift Towards Platform and Artificial Intelligence Technology
Cato Networks Acquires Aim Security to Bolster AI Security Capabilities
Cato Networks, a leading provider of cloud-native SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) solutions, has announced the acquisition of Aim Security, a pioneer in AI security solutions. This marks Cato's first-ever acquisition and is a significant step in addressing the growing AI security demands.
The acquisition of Aim Security will extend Cato's SASE Cloud Platform by unlocking AI security capabilities. This will help address the complexity and unstructured nature of AI interactions, enabling secure enterprise adoption of AI agents and public and private AI applications.
Aim Security's AI Firewall secures internal AI applications and agents against runtime AI attacks, while continuously discovering, detecting, and remediating AI security and compliance risks before they reach production. The company's solution spans three AI security use cases: securing employee use of public AI applications, securing private AI applications and AI agents, and securing the agentic AI development lifecycle with AI security posture management (AI-SPM).
One of the world's largest financial services companies has already deployed Aim Security to secure its AI adoption. This acquisition is set to position Cato Networks as a key player in the future of SASE technologies in AI transformation.
Cato Networks produced the first cloud-native SASE platform from the ground up to secure all enterprise network flows from any source to any destination. The acquisition will expand the Cato SASE Cloud Platform to help address the evolving AI attack surface, detecting and stopping threats, risky or anomalous access, and data breaches.
The additional $50 million investment was made to extend Cato's Series G financing round, announced in June. This brings the total round to $409 million. Cato Networks has surpassed $300 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR).
The acquisition was supported by investors including Canaan Partners Management, YL Ventures Ltd., Cyber Club London Ltd., and Acrew Capital. Service providers must strike a balance between opportunity and risk when adopting agentic AI, and this acquisition is a testament to Cato's commitment to ensuring a secure and safe AI environment for its clients.
SASE, with its unique position as a primary control point for AI interactions, is poised to play a crucial role in the future of AI security. This acquisition of Aim Security by Cato Networks is a significant step towards that future.
