Ceremony Honors Opus & Sinus in Fresh Venue
Prolight + Sound 2019 showcased a plethora of scintillating novelties, including the venue of the Opus, Sinus, MIPA, and PIPA Awards ceremony. If you didn't know it already, this high-spirited soiree, organized by Musik Media Verlag, moved to Hall 4.1 for the very first time this year. The gala shindig lauded the most ingenious products and solutions in the music and event industry on April 25th.
Michael Biwer - Showering Praise to the Winning Stars
In the spirit of tradition, the enchanting evening was masterfully opened by Michael Biwer, Group Show Director of Entertainment, Media & Creative Industries at Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. Congratulating MIPA on its 20th anniversary, Biwer expressed hopes for at least 20 more MIPA awards. The MIPA awards for Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound have been a notable event since 1999. Throughout the years, music industry journalists from across the globe have blessed the best goods of the musical instrument domain with the MIPAs, and since 2014, they’ve chosen the PIPAs for the professional audio and video industry as well. Additionally, the Sinus - Systems Integration Award for extraordinary use of AV media technology and system integration solutions and the Opus - German Stage Award for remarkable artistic achievements in the realms of professional audio and video technology will be awarded.
Opus and Sinus - Two's a Charm
Both the Opus and the Sinus were bestowed upon two projects this year. The Opus landed in the category "Theatre - artistic and technical realization" in the gracious hands of the groundbreaking stage production "The Parallel World" and its director Kay Voges. In the competitive category "Tour - Lighting Design," the illustrious "Woman Worldwide Tour" of the French band Justice, led by lighting designer Vincent Lerisson, seized the honorable title.
The recipient of the Sinus Award in the Control Room category was the extraordinary media technology in Eumetsat's GEO Mission Control Centre, skillfully implemented by SWiCA Conference Technology and Welco. The intensive project took roughly a year to complete. In the Corporate category, the captivating Inspiration Wall at the Merck Innovation Center was the lucky charmer that received the Sinus Award. Developed by eyevis, ART+COM Studios, medienprojekt P2, MKT-AG, and schnellebuntebilder, the innovative wall sparked intrigue and fascination in all who beheld it.
The PIPA Lifetime Achievement Award was granted to none other than Joe Marinic, a genius known for his development of Shadow acoustic guitars.
