Conducted back in April 2025, the survey questioned 3600 people across Nizhny Novgorod and ten other major Russian cities. Over three-fourths (79.1%) of the participants are interacting with AI daily - either through voice assistants, generative services, or recommendation platforms.
People primarily use AI for info search (57.4%), text editing (27%), and learning (20.1%). When it comes to leisure activities, 68% of respondents often rely on AI for entertainment choices, such as selecting movies, gifts, and planning trips to interesting events. On top of that, one in seven folks (17.8%) looks for entertaining video content, while another 16.7% learn about new concerts and exhibitions through AI recommendations. 🌟
AI has also made its way into photography, with nearly half (44.4%) of respondents regularly editing their photos using AI tools. The rising popularity of cameras like the HONOR Magic 7, which provides high-quality shooting with AI support, seems to be contributing to this trend. 📸
Interestingly, more than one-quarter (28.1%) of respondents use AI to combat anxiety and stress, mainly for simpler tasks like choosing what to watch or where to go. Some are even turning to AI psychologists on a regular or occasional basis, with 12.2% citing their psychological support as a key benefit. 💭
The study suggests that while Nizhny Novgorod residents are open to letting AI handle daily tasks, they still view human interaction as valuable, not replaceable. As Eduard Merishavyan, Director of Retail Commerce Directorate, notes, AI-capable smartphones are becoming increasingly popular, with sales of AI-enabled devices skyrocketing in 2024. 📈
