New Kinetic DX Electric Scooter Set to Launch in India on July 28, 2025

Kinetic Green, a subsidiary of the Kinetic Group, is set to launch a new electric scooter, the Kinetic DX, on July 28, 2025. This modern electric scooter pays homage to the classic 1980s Kinetic Honda DX, blending retro design with contemporary electric technology.

The new Kinetic DX electric scooter will offer a range of battery options, with most sources indicating between 1.8 kWh to 3.5 kWh, and an estimated range of 80 to 105 km per full charge. The scooter will feature a hub-mounted electric motor designed for efficient urban commuting, capable of a top speed of up to 80 km/h.

The design of the new Kinetic DX scooter bears a striking resemblance to the original model, with the side panels resembling the original design. However, it also includes modern touches such as a backlit Kinetic logo, a TFT instrument cluster, and illuminated logos including one above the headlamp. The scooter’s design incorporates nostalgic elements such as a fake exhaust noise feature reportedly imitating the original two-stroke model.

The new Kinetic DX electric scooter will be priced competitively, with an expected price between ₹1,00,000 and ₹1,10,000 (ex-showroom), positioning it competitively with other premium electric scooters like the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.

Kinetic Green offers several other electric scooters in the market, including the Kinetic Green Zulu, Kinetic Green Zoom, Kinetic Green Flex, Kinetic Green Zing, and Kinetic Green e-Luna. However, the details about the new Kinetic electric scooter's launch and technical specifications have yet to be disclosed.

The electric scooter segment of the family market has several options, and the new Kinetic electric scooter will present a challenge to existing models such as the Bajaj Chetak, Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, Ola S1 X, and others.

The Kinetic DX scooter, originally produced from 1984 to 2007 in collaboration with Honda Motor Company, is set to return as an all-electric model. Kinetic Green has submitted a design patent for the new Kinetic DX scooter, and the rear of the new electric scooter features a new grab rail instead of a spare tyre. The 'Kinetic' logo is displayed on the flyscreen of the new design patent, unlike the 'Kinetic Honda' logo on the original.

As the launch date for the new Kinetic electric scooter approaches, Kinetic Green continues to post stories about the history of the Kinetic Honda scooter on its social media pages. The company plans to introduce three electric scooters over the next 18 months, marking its strategic re-entry into the Indian electric scooter market.

The upcoming launch of the new Kinetic DX electric scooter signals a blend of lifestyle and technology, recreating the 1980s retro aesthetic while incorporating modern innovations. As it joins the competitive sports of the premium electric scooter market, the Kinetic DX will face off against established models like the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.
