Concept Ventures Closes £65M Fund II, Europe's Largest Dedicated Pre-Seed Fund
Concept Ventures, a leading European pre-seed investor, has closed its second fund at £65 million. The oversubscribed fund will back up to 50 companies at the pre-seed stage, with an average cheque size of $1 million. This news comes as the firm's debut fund has proven to be a top 1% global performer, with portfolio startups raising over $450 million to date.
Reece Chowdhry, founding partner at Concept Ventures, emphasizes the importance of true specialists in pre-seed investing. The firm's success is evident in its 100% track record of portfolio companies raising further rounds. Fund II's institutional LPs include Aldea Ventures, Top Tier Capital Partners, Marktlink Capital, Dominus, and Granite Capital Management, as well as portfolio founders and other institutional investors. Notably, 80% of Fund II's LPs are based in the US.
Concept Ventures has backed innovative startups such as ElevenLabs, VSim, Treefera, Anam, and Arondite. Eric Fitzgerald, general partner at Top Tier Capital Partners, praises Concept's ability to spot exceptional talent early. In addition to its investment activities, Concept pledges 1% of its carry to charities chosen by founders.
With Fund II, Concept Ventures becomes Europe's largest dedicated pre-seed fund, managing $200 million in assets. The firm's commitment to supporting early-stage startups and its impressive track record have positioned it as a key player in the European investment landscape.
