Confirmed Release Date for One UI 8: Android 16 Update Coming to Galaxy S24, S23, and Other Devices - Upgrade Expected for Users
Samsung has announced an update schedule for its One UI 8, based on Android 16, for a variety of its devices. Here's a breakdown of the timeline for some of the most anticipated updates.
Starting on October 6, the Galaxy A54 5G, A34 5G, A25 5G, and A16 series, as well as the Galaxy Tab S10 series, will begin receiving the One UI 8 update. The Galaxy A73 5G, A53 5G, A24, and A15 are set to follow suit on October 16.
The Galaxy S25 series, including the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, have already started receiving the One UI 8 update as of September 18. The Galaxy S24 series, including the S24, S24+, S24 FE, and S24 Ultra, will receive the update on September 25.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5 will also be updated on September 25, while the Galaxy S21 FE will join the list on October 16. The Galaxy S22 series, comprising the S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra, is scheduled to receive the One UI 8 update on October 6. Users of the Galaxy S23 lineup will get the update from October 2.
The Galaxy Tab S8 lineup, including the Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra, is expected to be updated on October 16. The Galaxy Tab S9 series will follow on October 6.
Samsung Brazil has confirmed the One UI 8 release timeline for Galaxy devices, but the official India schedule for the One UI 8 update remains under wraps at the moment. There is no verified release date for One UI 8 on the Galaxy S23 in India, although the rollout of One UI 8 has started with the Galaxy S25 series, and other models, including the Galaxy S24 series, will receive updates later this year.
The rollout dates currently apply to South Korea and Brazil only. The Galaxy A33 5G rollout will begin on October 23, while the Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G will start receiving One UI 8 on September 25. The Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 will be updated with One UI 8 from September 25. The Galaxy S22 series is scheduled to receive the One UI 8 update on October 6, and the Galaxy S21 FE will be updated with One UI 8 on October 16.
