Dresden, Germany - A new E-moped rental service has recently hit the streets of Dresden, providing an eco-friendly and convenient transportation option for citizens and visitors alike. The operator of this stationless E-moped rental service is Electric Mobility Concepts GmbH, a subsidiary of mobility provider GoTo Global.

The new E-mopeds, branded as "emmy", can be found throughout the city, with pick-up and drop-off zones covering large parts of Dresden, including Klotzsche, Bühlau, and Leuben. These zones have been carefully planned to ensure a balanced distribution of the fleet, aiming to avoid overcrowding in the city center and sensibly complement public transport.

To rent an E-moped, users must download the emmy app, which provides information about the available E-mopeds and the designated pick-up and drop-off zones. Riders must also meet certain requirements, including a valid driver's license of class A, A1, A2, AM, or B and a minimum age of 18.

The E-mopeds can reach speeds of up to 45 km/h and are equipped with helmets for two people, stored in a so-called helmet box. Parking for the E-mopeds is allowed wherever cars are permitted, but not on the sidewalk.

The introduction of this new service has been welcomed by the Mayor of Transportation in Dresden, Stephan Kühn (Greens), who views it as a crucial building block for the future of traffic in Dresden. The sharing guidelines adopted by the city council in 2022 ensure that these rental offers support sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility in the city.

Electric Mobility Concepts GmbH's entry into the Dresden market is part of a larger trend towards sustainable urban mobility, as cities around the world look for ways to reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality. With the E-mopeds now available for rent, Dresden continues to be at the forefront of this movement, offering its residents and visitors a greener, more efficient way to get around.

  1. In addition to the new E-moped rental service, Dresden residents and visitors can now enjoy the convenience of using smartphones to navigate the city, as the emmy app provides information about available E-mopeds and pick-up zones.
  2. Besides the traditional public transport options, residents of Dresden can appreciate the latest technology in gadgets with the smartphone-compatible emmy E-mopeds, which are equipped with helmets and can be parked like cars throughout the city.
