Croatian company Dalekovod contributes to significant undertaking in Sweden

According to Poslovni Dnevnik/Borivoje Dokler, Dalekovod is earning its stripes in a high-stakes energy transition venture in Sweden. A colossal 460-kilometer trek of 400 kV transmission lines plans to connect Karlstad and Östersund. Dubbed "Karlstadbenet," this mammoth project will boost electricity transmission capacity between Sweden's north and south, as well as relieve bottlenecks between power areas.

As part of a team led by the Swedish company Tyréns as the main consultant, Dalekovod and Cowi will lend their expertise to make this project a success. The project's grand sum comes in at an impressive 62 million euros, and Svenska kraftnät, Sweden's national transmission system operator, serves as the project's investor.

In this endeavor, Dalekovod will wear multiple hats as a vital subcontractor. Their responsibilities include providing expert guidance in power engineering and heading up the entire process of designing new and rebuilding existing overhead lines, from inception to construction. Dalekovod's responsibilities include carrying out field surveys, analyzing feasibility, shaping construction solutions, submitting concession applications, preparing bases for public discussions, and conducting environmental impact assessments.
