Dacia's New Duster Pick-up Coming in 2025 with Hybrid Powertrains
Dacia, the Romanian car manufacturer, has a rich history with pick-up trucks. The first generation was introduced in 1975 and produced until 2006. Now, they're set to launch a new pick-up version of the third-generation Duster in autumn 2025, exclusively in Romania.
The first Dacia pick-up was based on the Dacia 1300 and came in 'Drop Side', two-seater, and 'Double Cab' versions. In 2008, the Logan Pick-up was launched, featuring a loading area that could accommodate items up to 1.81 meters long and 1.37 meters wide, with a payload of 725 kilograms.
In 2014, Dacia presented the Duster Pick-up with a 1.70-meter loading area and a maximum payload of 450 kilograms. This was powered by a 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine with 110 PS. The same year, the Renault Duster Oroch pick-up was presented in Brazil, based on the first Duster generation.
In 2020, Dacia included a pick-up variant based on the second generation of the Duster in its official model range for the Romanian home market. This had a 1.65-meter loading area and a payload of 500 kilograms. Now, they're planning to launch a full-fledged pick-up variant based on the third model generation of the Duster in autumn 2025, with a payload of 450 kilograms and two hybrid powertrain options, and all-wheel drive available.
Dacia's new pick-up variant, based on the third-generation Duster, is set to hit the Romanian market in autumn 2025. With a payload of 450 kilograms and hybrid powertrain options, it's expected to be a strong addition to their line-up.
