Neuwied, County Administrator Achim Hallerbach visits KOCH Industrieanlagen GmbH in Dernbach

Dernbach, County Neuwied – County Administrator Achim Hallerbach recently discovered technologies of the future during a visit to KOCH Industrieanlagen GmbH. Accompanied by IHK Regional Director Kristina Kutting and the head of the county's economic development, Harald Schmillen, Hallerbach learned about the family-owned company's focus on robotics in the Urbacher Wald industrial area.

Hallerbach expressed his enthusiasm for the potential of robotics as a key driver for the region's competitiveness. For several years, the County Administrator has been collaborating with Prof. Dr. Udo Gnasa from the Department of Engineering at the University of Koblenz on developing a robotics center, tentatively named 'BiFAR', with the aim of creating a cutting-edge education and application hub in the region.

Founder Reinhard Koch, his son Ulli Koch who now serves as managing director, and sales and project management director Thomas Theis showcased their company's expertise in robot system implementation. With over four decades of experience in automation and more than two decades in robot systems, KOCH Industrieanlagen GmbH has positioned itself as a global leader in automation and robotics solutions.

Reinhard Koch, the company's founder, established it in 1978 and nurtured its growth with foresight. The senior Koch continues to offer valuable advice and guidance from his role as a mentor.

Schmillen praised KOCH Industrieanlagen GmbH's unique blend of high-tech innovation and human passion. The employees' commitment to the company is a testament to the firm's forward-thinking approach. The company's primary goal is to support customers in increasing their competitiveness through factory automation, promising cost savings from high plant availability and reduced maintenance efforts.

Ulli Koch, the managing director of the second generation, explained that robotics is the key to their success, having grown from a small engineering office into a world-renowned provider of automation and robotics solutions.

Hallerbach stresses the importance of integrating technology and human resources, foreseeing a synergy where technology supports, simplifies, and speeds up human tasks. Collaborative partnerships between KOCH Industrieanlagen GmbH and the University of Koblenz ensure a solid foundation for this integration.

Through partnerships with local businesses and customized solutions, KOCH supports a diverse range of industries, including glass finishers, plastic manufacturers, and chemical companies. Both international corporations and regional businesses in Neuwied benefit from their expertise.

Artificial-intelligence and other technologies are integral to KOCH Industrieanlagen GmbH's focus on robotics, as showcased during County Administrator Achim Hallerbach's visit in Dernbach. Hallerbach, in his vision for a competitive region, sees potential synergy between technology and human resources, envisioning a future where technology supports, simplifies, and speeds up human tasks.
