Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Expands Electric Transport Refrigeration Portfolio at NUFAM 2025

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Transport Europe GmbH (MTTE) is set to showcase its expanded electric transport refrigeration portfolio at NUFAM 2025 in Karlsruhe. The event, focusing on digitization and training in the commercial vehicle industry, will take place from [date].

MTTE's booth (Hall 2, Stand D 206) will feature a variety of electric-powered refrigeration units, including the new full-electric underfloor cooling machine TEU for trucks, a premiere in its lineup. Visitors can also expect to see the full range of Preciso full-electric refrigeration units and the new full-electric trailer cooling machine TEF 1500, available with external battery and configurable in different battery sizes.

The TEK Series, launched in June 2024, represents MTTE's response to the refrigerated transport market's shift towards electric and low-emission technologies. This series of electric-driven transport refrigeration units is designed to provide emission-free, high-quality, and consistent temperature solutions, especially suited for small to medium-sized trucks used in last-mile delivery and refrigerated transport of food and pharmaceuticals.

MTTE CEO Björn Reckhorn stated that the company's portfolio meets the demand for economical and environmentally friendly solutions for transport cooling and that they actively support their customers in the gradual decarbonization of their refrigerated vehicle fleets. The goal of MTTE is to enable locally emission-free refrigerated transport, especially in urban and regional distribution.

In addition to the new electric units, MTTE is also showcasing a service vehicle in the outdoor area. The new outdoor area at NUFAM 2025 will feature real vehicle applications of MTTE's cooling technology. Visitors can see a MAN straight truck with a TU diesel underfloor unit, a MAN tractor with the new full-electric TEU machine, and a van with the TEK electric unit.

MTTE's electric product lines are aimed at transport companies that want to decarbonize their fleets while maintaining operability in urban areas. The target audience for MTTE at NUFAM 2025 is refrigerated logistics companies with a focus on decarbonization.

Parallel to the electrification, MTTE is expanding its service network and product availability in Europe. This expansion aligns with the growing demand for sustainable, emission-free transport refrigeration solutions driven by increases in frozen food transport and home delivery services.

The TEK Series enables the achievement of constant-temperature transportation while supporting carbon-neutral logistics efforts. This portfolio expansion is a significant step toward decarbonizing refrigerated transport logistics in Europe and beyond.
