Intella, a trailblazing company specializing in dialectal Arabic speech intelligence, has secured significant investment to further its mission of transforming customer conversations into a strategic asset for enterprises across the MENA region.

The company, founded by Nour AlTaher and Omar Mansour in 2021, has raised US$12.5 million in Series A funding, led by Prosus, a global internet group and one of the largest technology investors in the world. The round also saw participation from 500 Global, Wa’ed Ventures, Hala Ventures, Idrisi Ventures, and HearstLab, the investment arm of Hearst Corporation.

The funding marks Prosus' confidence in Intella's technology and market leadership, as well as its potential to expand in the MENA region. The funds raised will be used to accelerate Intella's mission to build AI models and tools tailored to Arabic dialects, deepen its enterprise capabilities, and expand across the region.

Intella's speech-to-text models have achieved a global record accuracy of 95.73 percent, setting it apart as the leading Arabic speech intelligence company in the MENA region. The company's suite of models includes a dialectal ASR engine and the conversational AI agent, Ziila.

These models provide foundational technology for enterprises to analyze customer conversations and build next-generation customer experiences. The technology enables businesses to deliver localized, human-like conversations at scale, unlocking data-driven insights, improving customer satisfaction, ensuring quality control, and increasing operational efficiency.

Intella's proprietary speech-to-text models are tailored to more than 25 dialects, making it an invaluable resource for businesses operating in the region. With the new funding, the company plans to double down on Research & Development, product expansion, and regional hiring.

The funding will also enable Intella to expand its enterprise capabilities, allowing businesses to scale their use of the technology and reap the benefits of AI-powered customer interactions. The funds raised will accelerate the creation of a digital AI workforce across the Arabic-speaking world, further cementing Intella's position as a leader in the field.

AlTaher stated that the funding from Prosus will help Intella achieve its goal of transforming customer conversations into a strategic asset for every enterprise in the region. She expressed her excitement about the opportunities that lie ahead and the potential for Intella to make a significant impact on the customer experience landscape in the MENA region.
