Electric Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) from Hongqi, boasting a hint of Nobel elegance
The Chinese automaker Hongqi has made a significant move in the European market by introducing its new electric SUV model, the EHS5, at the IAA Mobility in Munich. Measuring 4.76 meters in length and boasting a wheelbase of 2.90 meters, the EHS5 offers a spacious interior and a cargo compartment that can be expanded to 1,611 liters. The SUV features an aerodynamic design typical of Chinese electric vehicles, ensuring a sleek and modern look. One of the standout features of the EHS5 is its climate-controlled "Queen's" seats in the front, which can be adjusted to a relax position. For added convenience, the cockpit includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen. However, the EHS5 does not have a panoramic glass roof spanning nearly 2.2 square meters, unlike some other models. The EHS5 is equipped with a battery size of 85 kWh, promising a projected range of 550 kilometers. It's worth noting that, considering electric drives typically increase the price, the EHS5 is likely to cost several thousand euros more than its gasoline-powered sibling, the HS5, which is currently offered on the German Hongqi website for 42,000 euros. While Hongqi has presented the EHS5 for the German market, the exact person or entity behind its distribution in Germany remains undisclosed. The company has not yet revealed detailed plans on the sales network or specific partners in Germany. The specific prices for the EHS5 in Germany are also not yet released. Another noteworthy feature of the EHS5 is its head-up display that projects a 65-inch image onto the windshield. This innovative technology provides drivers with essential information without the need to take their eyes off the road. Despite the excitement surrounding the EHS5, Hongqi has not yet announced any plans for the Auto Manufacturer Hongqi EH7/EH7 or the Autosalon Paris 2024. The specific market launch date in Germany for the Hongqi EHS5 is also not yet known. As Hongqi continues to make its mark in the European market, the EHS5 is poised to be an exciting addition to the electric vehicle landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on this promising new model.
