Emerson Introduces AI-Driven Tool for Streamlining Test and Measurement Processes
Emerson, a leading technology and engineering company, has announced the integration of Nigel AI Advisor into its flagship test and measurement software, including NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand. This AI-driven tool is designed to enhance engineers' productivity and efficiency by analyzing test code, providing improvement recommendations, and enabling natural language queries for guidance on utilizing hundreds of functions within these software environments.
Nigel AI Advisor is built on advanced large language models, specifically trained to understand NI software interfaces. It analyzes code to suggest optimizations and better test development strategies, supports plain language prompts, and protects user data through a secure cloud platform. By reducing test complexity, Nigel accelerates engineering workflows and advances capabilities within test and measurement domains.
The integration of Nigel AI Advisor marks the first step in Emerson's strategy to integrate test-optimized AI capabilities within its portfolio. This tool is part of Emerson's NI LabVIEW+ Suite, which integrates multiple software tools for automating measurements, analysis, and testing. Emerson plans to expand Nigel's integration to additional test software in the future.
Meanwhile, Emerson is hosting a series of webinars focused on electric vehicle (EV) test and measurement. The first webinar, titled "What EV Test Will Look Like in 2026 (And What You Can Do About It Now)", and the second, "Testing The Next Generation of EV Inverters: What It Really Takes", aim to provide insights into the future of EV testing. However, it is important to note that these webinars are not directly related to Nigel AI Advisor or its integration with NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand.
Nigel AI Advisor was first presented at the NI Connect conference in July 2025. Further information about the webinars, including registration details and specific dates/times, has yet to be announced.
