The blockchain-based organization Sign has formed a strategic partnership with esports club NTMR to create the Sign Esports Club, focusing on the Overwatch 2 scene. This collaboration aims to ensure a strong showing at the Esports World Cup 2025.

Sign's broader aspirations extend beyond the current Overwatch 2 campaign, with the partnership centred on competitive success and growth. The NTMR Overwatch team, consisting of students from Northwood University, will compete both at the Esports World Cup and in the Northwood collegiate esports season for 2025–26.

The team will be wearing newly designed Sign-branded orange jerseys and representing Sign Esports during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The OWCS Mid-Season Championship, part of the larger Esports World Cup framework, is scheduled to run from July 31 to August 3, 2025, with a prize pool of $1 million.

The team will revert to competing under the NTMR name once OWCS Stage 3 resumes later in the year. Jack 'Fl4k' Ketchum, NTMR's General Manager and CEO, has assured supporters that he will continue backing the team during their time with Sign.

In preparation for the Esports World Cup, the Overwatch 2 team will undergo a pre-tournament training bootcamp in South Korea. The training bootcamp is expected to play a crucial role in their preparation, as they will be competing against the top teams from OWCS Stage 2.

The success of this partnership signals Sign's deeper interest in the esports ecosystem. The collaboration between a blockchain enterprise and an esports club illustrates the growing intersection of Web3 companies and digital competitive entertainment. The global esports landscape may see more such collaborations as the lines between technology, sports, and media continue to blur.

However, the Sign Overwatch 2 team's post-tournament plans remain undisclosed. Whether Sign will have a permanent presence in competitive gaming or expand into additional titles remains uncertain. One thing is clear: the Esports World Cup 2025 promises to be an exciting event with the participation of the Sign Esports Club and NTMR team.
