European Social Innovation Competition 2024 Finalists Unveiled
The European Commission has revealed the finalists for the European Social Innovation Competition 2024. The winner will be crowned at the European Social Innovation Forum Annual Event - NeSEI, in Brussels on March 11. The competition, supported by the European Innovation Council under Horizon Europe, aims to foster social innovation and inspire new ideas.
Three innovative projects have made it to the final round. 'Cultivating Civic Habits' from Latvia focuses on boosting civic competencies among young people aged 14-18 through an interactive app. The Netherlands' 'Live Agora' promotes digital democracy by combating disinformation and empowering communities. Portugal's 'The Newsroom' also tackles disinformation, aiming to create a more informed society.
All finalists will join the Network of Social Entrepreneurs and Innovators (NESEI) Group, opening doors to business opportunities and networking. The winner will receive €75,000, with €50,000 and €25,000 going to the second and third places respectively.
The winner of the European Social Innovation Competition 2024 will be announced on March 11 in Brussels. The competition, now in its 10th year, continues to recognise and support innovative solutions that address pressing social challenges across Europe.
