Exceedingly proud GDR athlete boasts of current achievements
In the picturesque town of Letzin near Altentreptow, Wilhelm Ehlert has left an indelible mark on the local automotive industry. With a career spanning over 30 years as a Kfz-Meister, Ehlert has become a respected figure in the region.

His wife continued to support him, learning typing and shorthand specifically for his master's thesis, to help run the business.
Ehlert trained five apprentices until 2000, all of whom have since become masters. One of his trainees, his son Frank Ehlert, now runs the company. Other family members, including Marcel Ehlert and Steffen Vollbrecht, also work in the family business.
Interestingly, one of Wilhelm Ehlert's grandsons, who is in the trade, builds emergency vehicles at Fahrtec in Neubrandenburg. Three of Ehlert's grandsons are in the trade, demonstrating a strong family tradition in the automotive sector.
