Expanding its horizons, Broadcast Management Group announces plans to establish state-of-the-art broadcast studios in the heart of Washington D.C.
In the heart of Upper Northwest D.C., Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is set to open two new full-scale broadcast studios, strategically located near Capitol Hill, the White House, and all three major airports[1]. This move addresses the city's lack of professional-grade studio space, following the closure of legacy facilities like Atlantic Video and The Newseum[2][4].
The studios, engineered for daily, high-caliber, multi-camera productions across news, sports, entertainment, and corporate verticals, will be directly connected to BMG’s Cloud Broadcast Network Operations Center[1][2]. This connection provides access to multiple control rooms, master control/playout, Media Asset Management, and Zero Density Virtual Set technology, among other advanced features[1][2].
BMG’s Phase 3 expansion includes an Insert Studio (17' x 20'), Studio A (85' x 40'), and Studio B (60' x 40'), accommodating a 150-person live audience[1]. The facility will also house attached control rooms, green rooms, dressing rooms, newsrooms, production offices, and editing suites, as well as private entrances, on-site parking, and in-house security[1][4].
Clients can choose between production-only support or full creative production services, which include show development, directing, graphics, and post[1]. The studios offer seamless access to Evertz routing, Ross XPression and Zero Density graphics, Grass Valley switchers, and global transmission capabilities[1][2].
Todd Mason, CEO of BMG, stated that Washington, D.C. is the perfect home for their broadcast network operations center and studios, emphasizing that the studios will support a variety of live broadcast shows and complete the "full circle" of broadcast channel support[1][2].
BMG's new expansion in D.C. follows the construction of a new insert studio in their Las Vegas location[1]. In 2024, BMG produced 1,900 shows and 2,500 hours of live programming, demonstrating their commitment to delivering high-quality broadcast services[1].
With these new studios, BMG aims to take advantage of D.C.'s rich talent pool and strategic location, providing domestic and international news and corporate clients with a comprehensive broadcast ecosystem supporting multiple channels and high-end production needs from a single, centralized location[1][2]. Studio bookings for 2026 and beyond are now open[1].
