Exploring, Wandering, Innovating: Three iPhone Accessories that Arrived in 2024

While the Samsung Galaxy serves as my go-to phone for journeys, enhancing its capabilities is a breeze thanks to a few add-ons—either leveraging its MagSafe-like technology or incorporating physical buttons. Three iPhone accessories have stood out in 2025 for me, first with the iPhone 15 Pro and now the iPhone 16 Pro. Let me share some insights about them.

TapTyper Keyboard Case

Initially, I struggled with the first-version TapTyper Keyboard case for the iPhone 15 Pro. It left much to be desired, with several crucial features missing. However, the second-gen product rectified most of its flaws. It took some time for my thumbs and muscle memory to acclimate, but having a full screen at your fingertips is well worth the effort.

The TapTyper Keyboard for the iPhone 16 Pro boasts improved exterior quality for a perfect fit, making it convenient to slip inside pockets. The added Type-C port offers data transfer ease.

The keys on the new TapTyper are tilted, enhancing precision and delivering a more accurate typing experience. It took some getting used to, but I eventually adapted, all while exploring TapMode to unlock its true potential.

Protective Cover for iPhone 16 Pro's Physical Keypad

TapMode can feel overwhelming when tweaking Shortcuts settings, but the payoff is worth it. I've set up personalized shortcuts for contacts and apps, allowing for quick access without touching the screen. While it resets built-in shortcuts, I recommend utilizing TapMode to get the most out of your investment.

Cost: $139 for the iPhone 16 Pro

Anker PowerPort Slim 65W Charger

This Anker power adapter is a must-have if you travel frequently while keeping luggage light. I adore its slim design. It employs GaN technology to maintain its size, while the plug conveniently folds into the body, making it an easy fit for even the tiniest pockets—without sacrificing features.

Holding the Nomad Slim 65W two-port power charger.

Delivering 65W fast charging, this charger includes dual USB-C PD ports. The blue-colored one pumps out 45W, while the other offers 20W. It's perfect for an iPhone and MacBook Air bundles, having accompanied me on my last nine trips, with no additional power adapter needed—just two of these.

At the time of writing, the black version of the Anker PowerPort Slim 65W Power Adapter is available at a 20% discount.

Cost: $50

Joby GorillaPod SnapStand Max

Maximized stabilization with ShiftCam SnapStand for iPhone 16 Pro integration.

Creators might be intrigued by this one. The Joby GorillaPod SnapStand Max is a MagSafe-compatible stand capable of extending up to 180cm in height while reducing to a compact 28cm form factor. It offers the convenience of a selfie stick along with the stability of a tripod without the bulk. Furthermore, the stand can tilt up to 200 degrees to cater to a variety of angles.

The SnapStand Max is equipped with a built-in Bluetooth remote for hands-free recording. Simply position the stand, settle into your preferred frame, and begin recording without returning to the tripod.

For vloggers, the SnapStand Max can be paired with Joby's own SnapLight accessory to enhance the vlogging experience. If compactness is a priority, consider the SnapStand Mini, but the Max offers unmatched convenience while on the go.

Cost: $79

These iPhone accessories streamlined my 2025 travels immensely. Although I've used the Joby GorillaPod SnapStand Max for only two months, the TapTyper Keyboard proved to be a reliable ally, and the Anker charger remains a constant companion in my bag. I'm still seeking a MagSafe power bank that efficiently charges my iPhone without releasing excessive heat—perhaps my quest will conclude at CES 2026!

After discovering the convenience of the TapTyper Keyboard Case for the iPhone 16 Pro, I decided to upgrade from my previous iPhone model. The improved exterior quality and Type-C port make it an excellent addition to my device.

The addition of the Anker PowerPort Slim 65W Charger to my travel essentials has been a game-changer. Its ultra-slim design and GaN technology make it easy to carry, while its dual USB-C PD ports provide adequate power for my iPhone and MacBook Air.
