### Revamped Tesla Model Y Hits European and Chinese Roads Early

Tesla has accelerated the delivery of its refreshed Model Y electric vehicle in Europe and China, marking a strategic move to revitalize sales in key regions where demand for the company's older models has been dwindling.

The updated Model Y, boasting longer range and a stylish makeover, began shipping in Europe in June 2025. This move coincides with a resurgence in registrations in markets like Norway, Spain, and Portugal, where sales had previously been sluggish due to competitive pressure and shifting brand sentiment.

In Europe, the German Tesla factory in Gruenheide near Berlin has been producing the updated Model Y since Sunday evening, with deliveries now scheduled for February instead of March, as previously planned. Meanwhile, in China, deliveries of the updated Model Y are set to begin at the end of February, earlier than originally anticipated.

The logistics for European deliveries have been streamlined, with the German Gigafactory now supplying the Model Y to the UK, in addition to the Shanghai Gigafactory. This change should further expedite deliveries to Western Europe.

In terms of availability, it appears that older versions of the Model Y are no longer available for new orders in Europe, with the focus shifting to the new, refreshed model. In contrast, the China configurator indicates that the new Model Y will be delivered in February, and it is only available in a single version: the "Launch Series" with all-wheel drive and a larger battery.

The updated Model Y offers a modernized appearance, technical updates, and a range of extras, including a 6,000 euro premium for the "Launch Series" compared to the previous Model Y LR AWD. In China, the new Model Y is offered in two versions in the configurator.

Reports suggest that deliveries of the updated Model Y in China are set to begin "soon," while a member of the German Tesla forum, Tesla Fahrer und Freunde, reported production of the updated Model Y taking place on Sunday. Production of the updated Model Y has also officially begun in the Shanghai factory in China.

Meanwhile, the older Model S and X are no longer accepting new orders in Europe, with only remaining inventory available for sale. This strategic shift towards the higher-volume Model 3/Y lines is likely to help Tesla clear existing stock and rejuvenate sales in key markets.
