Here Comes the Double Whammy! Fender Introduces Two Khruangbin Signature Models

Today, we're witnessing an electric guitar first as Fender joins forces with Khruangbin, unveiling two dazzling signature models in one go - the Mark Speer Stratocaster and Laura Lee Jazz Bass. These bad boys, crafted at Fender's Ensenada, Mexico factory, are meticulously designed to mirror the psych-rockers' customized guitars up close.

In case you're not fam, think of the Texas collective, and you'll instantly picture Mark on his vintage '70s Strat in Aged Natural finish, Laura strumming that Jazz Bass in Vintage White. They've been sticking to these stunning guitars for quite some time, adding their personal spin via some nifty modifications here and there.

A shout-out to DiMarzio for providing the eye-popping pickups for both badass instruments. Mark's Strat is bedecked with DiMarzio Pro Track humbuckers at the neck and bridge, backed by a classic '70s Strat single-coil pickup in the middle position. As for the Jazz Bass, a pair of DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups bring all the goods to the table - deep lows, zippy highs, and a round, non-muddy midrange.

So why does having a long-term relationship with your electric guitar matter? Speer sheds some light: "This guitar serves as the best vessel for my musical ideas, making their journey from brain to world," he says. "I've become so familiar with its nuances, tones, and textures that it's like knowing my paintbrush inside out."

Still, Mark's Strat kicks some serious '70s Fender style. The body flaunts Aged Natural lacquer on a custom-contoured ash body, stuffed with hefty grain to feed the eyes. Fender DNA is all over the neck plate, which is affixed with three bolts and stamped with an "F." The oversized headstock bears the signature bullet-style truss rod nut, and there are dual string trees, too.

The Strat's neck leans on a custom C profile, wearing a maple fingerboard with an old-school 7.25" radius. The grand total is 21 jumbo frets, a vintage-style tremolo enhanced with Graph Tech saddles, and white pickguard and knobs for a retro touch.

Now let's switch gears to Laura's Jazz Bass, which boasts a Custom U profile neck and rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5" radius. Her pickups are controlled by a set of unique concentric knobs, melding each pickup's volume and tone onto one dial. A dash of Sixties vibe, anyone?

Both Khruangbin signature models are already available for the taking. The Stratocaster sets you back £1,349/$1,499, and the Jazz Bass will cost you £1,399/$1,499. For further details, hit up Fender.

These signature models, a collaboration between Fender and Khruangbin, not only embody the psych-rockers' unique musical style but also serve as personalized gadgets for entertainment, delivering a blend of technology and music. The Mark Speer Stratocaster and Laura Lee Jazz Bass, equipped with DiMarzio pickups, offer customized tones that mirror their sound preferences, enhancing their music production.
