In the heart of Fiera Milano di Rho, Italy, Fibocom has introduced its latest innovation, the LE270 series module, at Enlit Europe 2024. This new module is designed to accelerate smart metering deployment and ease concerns about battery replacement in the long-term product lifecycle, thanks to its extremely low power consumption.

As the utility industries undergo digital transformation driven by sustainable development goals, the demand for replacement technology after the 2/3G sunset is on the rise. The LE270 series module, engineered to empower smart metering applications with cost-effective 4G connectivity, is set to meet this demand.

According to Kevin Guan, the director of MTC product Marketing at Fibocom, the LE270 series module offers a more green, sustainable utility service for end users with its stable performance. The modules are ultra-compact in size and have ultra-low power consumption, making them ideal for smart electricity meters, water meters, and gas meters worldwide.

The LE270 series module supports 4G bands in China, India, EU, and Latin America, which are the fastest-growing metering markets globally. This global compatibility ensures reliable 4G connectivity for these smart meters, enabling real-time meter reading and better grid visibility, improving operational efficiency for utility companies.

The LE270 series module allows utility customers to collect, manage, and analyze meter data precisely. It integrates rich interfaces and supports various drivers and software functionalities for various IoT applications. The module is now available for commercial deployment and has received regional certifications such as CE/FCC/ANATEL.

Visitors to Enlit Europe 2024 can find the LE270 series module on display at Fibocom's booth (5.J52 in hall 5). Fibocom has also launched a new series of LTE Cat 1bis modules (LE270-CN, LE270-EU, LE270-LA) for the utility industries, further expanding its offerings in the smart metering sector.

Over 1.06 billion smart meters (electricity, gas, and water) are projected to be installed worldwide by the end of 2023. With the LE270 series module, Fibocom is poised to play a significant role in this global smart metering revolution.

While the name of the person registered as the director of MTC product sales at Fibocom is not publicly available, their team's dedication to delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for the utility industries is clear. The LE270 series module is a testament to this commitment, offering a more green, sustainable utility service for end users worldwide.
