Focus of IFQM Symposium 2025 Centers on Fortifying Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

In the heart of New Delhi, the second annual Indian Foundation for Quality Management (IFQM) Symposium took place, bringing together industry experts to discuss leading in a BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Non-linear, & Incomprehensible) Environment.

The event, attended by Nirmala Sitharaman, the Honourable Minister for Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs, India, highlighted the importance of Integrating Quality and Innovation for Excellence in Manufacturing. Dr. Hans-Joachim Neumann, Executive Vice President of Merck Electronics, also spoke about India's significant role in global supply chain management, especially with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) undertaking cultural change and customer centricity.

Positioning India as a dependable and competitive player in the global supply chain ecosystem was a topic of discussion. In recent months, IFQM has developed and implemented capacity-building programs, digital quality management tools, and innovation support initiatives to enhance MSMEs' ability to achieve Quality & Innovation goals, thereby boosting India's global competitiveness.

The central theme of the IFQM Symposium 2025 is "Quality & Innovation to Make India Globally Competitive". IFQM is committed to promoting transformative changes across Indian industries, and this commitment is reflected in their ongoing projects.

One such project is the development of a strong suite of 60+ Experiential Learning Solutions based on Action Learning principles. IFQM has also started three MSME Clusters and plans to increase this to 100 MSME companies by the end of the fiscal year.

The challenges and opportunities for MSMEs in India were also highlighted in a separate session. IFQM is aware of the unique challenges faced by these businesses and is dedicated to providing them with the tools they need to thrive.

A Quality Excellence Prize and several MOUs are in the pipeline for IFQM. The organisation is also looking forward to the inauguration of the IFQM Academy, which is coming up near Bangalore airport in FY 2026-27.

IFQM is led by a Governing Council consisting of top industry captains, including N. Chandrasekaran, Dilip Sanghvi, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, TV Narendran, K.N. Radhakrishnan, Randhir Thakur, Salil Gupte, SN Subrahmanyan, Venu Srinivasan, and Vivek Chaand Sehgal.
