Future of Plant Logistics: Daimler Trucks Introduce Electrified Lineup for Transportation Operations

At the Transport Logistic 2025 event, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is showcasing its commitment to electrifying road freight transport with the presentation of the eActros 600 and the TruckCharge strategy. The event, themed "Charged to electrify logistics", is taking place in Munich, Germany, with Mercedes-Benz Trucks located in Hall 6, Stand 300.

The eActros 600, a second-generation battery-electric truck designed for heavy-duty long-distance haulage, is central to this strategy. With its self-developed electric drive axle, lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells, 800-volt onboard system, and new interactive Multimedia Cockpit, the eActros 600 boasts advanced technological features.

The eActros 600 has undergone extensive real-world testing, including a 15,000-kilometer tour across 22 European countries and harsh winter trials in Northern Europe. It has received recognition as the “International Truck of the Year 2025,” highlighting its overall technological excellence and suitability for demanding transport tasks.

To address the challenge of the shortage of heavy vehicle charging infrastructure, Mercedes-Benz Trucks plans to establish a semi-public charging network under the TruckCharge brand. The aim is to have over 3,000 fast-charging points across Europe by 2030. This complements the Milence joint venture (between Daimler Truck, TRATON Group, and Volvo Group), which targets the deployment of 1,700 high-performance public chargers by 2027.

One example of the eActros 600's practical application can be seen at Wessels Logistik, where the trucks are used for round-the-clock operation. These trucks, which are integrated with solar and battery storage, enable near-continuous operation, achieving mileage comparable to diesel trucks while benefiting from lower operating costs and toll exemptions for zero-emission vehicles in Germany beyond 2026.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks aims to completely electrify the inbound logistics at four production sites - Gaggenau, Kassel, Mannheim, and Wörth. A large part of the supply chains at these production sites will be operated locally without emissions, contributing to a more sustainable and carbon-neutral transport solution.

Jürgen Distl, Head of Operations at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, states that they have gained experience in using the eActros in their own supply chains. This demonstrates how electric trucks can be integrated into supply chains, paving the way for a more sustainable future in road freight transport.

| Aspect | Details | |----------------------------|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | **Core vehicle** | eActros 600: battery-electric long-haul truck with advanced tech (electric axle, LFP batteries, 800V) | | **Testing & recognition** | Extensive real-world testing; “International Truck of the Year 2025” award | | **Charging infrastructure** | TruckCharge semi-public network aiming for 3,000+ fast chargers by 2030; complements Milence JV efforts | | **Customer use example** | Wessels Logistik running eActros 600 with integrated solar and battery storage, enabling near-continuous operation | | **Strategic goal** | Accelerate industry decarbonization by offering versatile electric truck variants and supporting ecosystem |

Thus, the eActros 600 is both a flagship product and a foundation for Mercedes-Benz Trucks' broader strategy to electrify road freight transport efficiently and sustainably. The Transport Logistic 2025 event serves as a platform for Mercedes-Benz Trucks to present its strategies and solutions for the electrification of road freight transport, setting a new standard for the industry.

Technology is integral to the eActros 600, a second-generation battery-electric truck designed for heavy-duty long-distance haulage, which comes equipped with advanced features such as self-developed electric drive axle, lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells, 800-volt onboard system, and new interactive Multimedia Cockpit. Additionally, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is leveraging technology through the TruckCharge strategy, aiming to establish a semi-public charging network with over 3,000 fast-charging points across Europe by 2030.
