Garuda Aerospace Showcases Advanced Drone Tech to CDM Officers, Launches UAVs and Training Programs
Garuda Aerospace, a leading Indian drone manufacturer, recently hosted College of Defence Management (CDM) officers at its Chennai facility. The visit marked a significant step in growing collaboration between India's defence sector and drone industry, as it was the second such event. The officers were treated to a comprehensive showcase of advanced drone technologies and initiatives aimed at empowering India's defence forces.
The event was highlighted by the launch of five advanced UAVs and the Garuda Raksha Udaan 2025 Impact Book. Additionally, free drone training programs were announced for soldiers' widows and Remote Pilot Certification for defence personnel. The CDM officers were given a detailed tour of Garuda's advanced manufacturing and R&D facilities, including the Drone Assembly and Quality Assurance Zone, R&D and Simulation/Testing Rooms, and RPTO Training and Stimulation Facility. They were also introduced to Garuda's extensive UAV portfolio, ranging from the G500 for reconnaissance to the Delivery Drone for logistics.
The sessions explored opportunities for deeper academia-industry collaboration to accelerate defence technology advancements and contribute to the nation's strategic capabilities. Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, emphasized the initiative's goal to equip India's future defence leaders with advanced knowledge and practical insights in drone technology. The event also saw the establishment of a Defence Drone Lab with 13 JAK Rifles and the announcement of a state-of-the-art Defence Park at Cheyyur, further cementing Garuda's commitment to 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and India's growing drone ecosystem.
The visit by CDM officers to Garuda Aerospace's Chennai facility provided first-hand exposure to cutting-edge drone technologies and industry-led innovations shaping India's UAV ecosystem. With investors and brand ambassadors like MS Dhoni and Abhinandan Varthaman, both honorary Lieutenant Colonels in the Territorial Army, Garuda Aerospace continues to strengthen its ties with the defence sector, contributing to India's strategic capabilities.
