Geely will transport 2000 units of Geometry C model vehicles to European and Israeli markets.
In a significant move, Geometry Auto, a sub-brand of Geely, has announced the export of its electric vehicle, the Geometry C model, to Belarus. This marks the first time Geometry models have been introduced to foreign markets, as part of an expanding international presence for the Chinese EV manufacturer.
The Geometry C, launched in August this year, is the second car under the Geometry brand. With dimensions of 4432 x 1833 x 1560 mm and a wheelbase of 2700 mm, the model features an ITCS 3.0 battery intelligent temperature control system, heat pump air-conditioning system, and lightweight body technology.
The Geometry C comes with two battery pack options: a 53kWh pack offering a NEDC range of 400KM, and a 70kWh pack boasting a range of 550KM. In low-temperature environments, the cruising range of the Geometry C model can increase by about 20%.
Geometry Auto's export of the Geometry C model to Belarus represents a growing but comparatively smaller footprint among Chinese EV exports. While brands like Tesla, NIO, Xpeng, and BYD have established strong global presences with broader strategies and higher sales volumes, Geometry Auto is generally viewed as emerging with a more regional and selective export strategy, focusing on mid-tier EV segments.
In May, Aiways, another Chinese startup, reported selling 2500 cars in the EU, indicating a growing interest in Chinese EVs in the European market. Aiways already sells its cars in seven European markets, including Holland, Belgium, Germany, and Denmark.
Tesla, with its Giga factory in Shanghai, supplies vehicles worldwide, but its direct presence in Belarus is relatively limited compared to major European countries. NIO, Xpeng, and BYD have also notably expanded their exports, with BYD making substantial progress in international market penetration, often surpassing other Chinese EV manufacturers in volume and brand recognition.
The Geometry C model is equipped with a motor that can produce a maximum power output of 208HP and a peak torque of 310Nm. The brand recently received the EU Whole Vehicle Type Certification (WVTA), ensuring compliance with European safety and environmental standards.
The batch of new cars will depart from the Modern port, Xiamen, and will be delivered to the Israeli and European markets, with Belarus being the European destination for Geometry C. The price of the Geometry C model in China starts at 129,800 RMB ($20,000). Geometry Auto has exported over 2000 Geometry C models to overseas markets.
The export of the Geometry C model to Belarus signifies a significant step for Geometry Auto in the global EV market. As the industry continues to shift towards electric and intelligent cars, it will be interesting to see how Geometry Auto's market expansion and sales in Belarus compare to other major EV brands in the coming months.
