German Copters DLS Revolutionizes Blood Sample Transport in Osterzgebirge
German Copters DLS GmbH is revolutionizing blood sample transport in the Osterzgebirge region. The company uses a drone to swiftly deliver around 50 samples daily to Dresden, bypassing traffic congestion and reducing transport times significantly. This innovative project aims to expand drone routes across the entire Free State of Saxony in the future.
The drone, equipped with three SIM cards for reliable communication, is managed by experienced pilot Matea Zivkovic, based in Croatia. It flies at a speed of up to 120 kilometers per hour and has a battery life of about two hours. While the drone can fly automatically, human intervention is required for sudden obstacles. Obtaining permits is necessary for the drones to fly on new routes, with the ultimate vision being direct delivery to laboratory windows.
This project is a shining example of innovation in Dresden, demonstrating the potential of drone technology in improving efficiency and reducing transport times. The drone route currently saves up to 60 percent of the time taken by traditional methods, making it a valuable addition to the region's healthcare infrastructure.
